More Details & Pictures
Vehicle originally bought in Taiwan by US military officer during Viet Nam war. There are differences- most notable the script “Datsun” on the rear hatch was not on this version of 240Z. Second owner- bought from son of military officer in 1996.
This car has been repainted at least 3 times but is still blue- not the original blue, tho’. Rebuilt from flywheel to rear splines in 1996, including trans and rear end. New clutch, head gasket, fuel pump in last 5,000 miles. Stock but for rims and usual maintenance. Most of receipts since 1996 and some from before still with vehicle. Covered and garaged until 2006- car port since.
I can’t begin to list everything I’ve done with this car since I bought it. It has been loved and cared for and I will truly miss it but I am getting too old to fold myself into and out of it anymore and it needs an owner who will respect and love it as I have.
Body is straight with some bondo work on the left rear wheel well from prior rust (before I owned it-hasn’t spread). Original floor mats and back deck have been replaced, seats have covers and will need to be re-upholstered as will dash cracks. Side leather still there. Car has an anti-theft device. Clock only works when running.
This car has been at times my daily driver and I would rely on it to travel cross country in a heart beat. It was driven to central Oregon (500 mile round trip) in June 2016 with no problems.
