More Details & Pictures
This is a clean stock silver 1973 240 Z (except engine) with all parts working well (except gas sender and vent cable). Seats redone and dash cap with one crack. Needs head liner. The hood, roof and trunk were repainted but the store messed up and added a bluish tint to the silver so they don’t quite match. There are a few rough spots. The car wants a paint job but looks OK…
The big plus is a new (3,000 miles) and hot ported 1982 ZX engine. Comes with full headers and 2 ½ inch exhaust. It is currently fitted with dual Webers not the triple Mikunis. Both sets designed for the L block. Has 3 separate sets of custom rims, one with Michelins with decent tread.
Engine rebuild was done some time ago and acquired by restorer in Sacramento who got it with the engine sitting on a stand. He had his mechanic remove pan, verify condition and replace bearings in 2003 before starting the engine for the first time. New radiator was installed. His health deteriorated preventing further restoration. I bought the car from him in 2004 with less than 500 miles on block and drove it home. I installed brake master, clutch master and slave, and new rebuilt front calipers in 2006.
Very extensive history of car is documented including specs and dimensions on everything in car from pistons to alternator.
Car runs well. I just don’t drive it much and don’t have the time or energy to do it justice.
